
Administrative Assistant and Worship Coordinator Job Opportunity
Position Summary
The Administrative Assistant is a partner in the Gospel ministry of Gethsemane Lutheran Church. S/He will work closely with the pastor and preschool director to provide invaluable administrative support in order to improve and increase Gethsemane’s efforts to carry out the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20). As such, s/he will be a member of (or, closely affiliated with) Gethsemane as a supporter of its ministry in his/her attitude, words, and work. We are looking for a responsible, skilled, positive person to carry out this role, confident that s/he will be a tremendous blessing to Gethsemane’s Gospel ministry.
This position is part time (approximately 25 hours/week) and reports directly to the Pastor. Pay will be commensurate with experience of selected individual. Starting targeted pay is $20-24 / hour.


Responsibilities
Provide Church and some Pre-school office support including, but not limited to: word processing, data entry, printing, mail, ordering office supplies, answering phones, responding to email, coordinate building maintenance, etc.
Coordinate with Pastor’s schedule to set member or other church-related appointments.
Gather materials from Church Council and others and assemble for Council and Congregational meetings; work in concert with Church Treasurer to ensure that all church and preschool operational invoices are paid; gather information, prepare and distribute Gethsemane’s Weekly Update; maintain church membership and visitor databases, and pre-school inquiry and response database; prepare weekly bulletins and, when necessary, worship slides. Maintain website content for church and pre-school; post sermon videos to YouTube; maintain Google calendar.
Plan worship music elements based on series / message themes; coordinate musicians and other worship artists; utilize and coordinate member worship-related talents into worship; develop music enrichment program. Other responsibilities that are in direct support of Gethsemane’s worship and outreach efforts.
Qualities and Skills Required
A member in good standing of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod or Evangelical Lutheran Synod.
Committed to Gethsemane’s Gospel ministry and long-range vision. Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively with others.
Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to prioritize work; strong attention to detail.
Excellent written and oral communication skills. High School diploma or equivalent; plus coursework analogous to at least two years of undergraduate degree.
Minimum of two years’ experience as administrative assistant with a myriad of responsibilities.
Prior web-site content experience a plus.
